Say you've just created a new UTM, or added a new lead source from your CRM, and would like to map it to a channel or a category.

No worries – not only can you add new mappings at any point in time, but InfiniGrow also tracks unmapped links and surfaces them for you to map retroactively (So for example, if you've started the campaign and realized you haven't mapped the channel correctly, you can go ahead and fix that after the fact).

Another important capability you have when configuring the channel and its touchpoints is adjusting the attribution credit each type of touchpoint will get in your attribution model.

For example, soft interactions like LinkedIn Impressions, Email sends and opens, and SDR calls can be adjusted to receive lower credit.

Channel settings

Follow the steps below to configure the channel settings:

Step 1: Click on the Settings wheel and choose Ops (Channels tab).

Step 2: Choose the channel category and name you want to map.
In the image, we are mapping "LinkedIn - Paid" under "Paid Social".

On the right side of the screen, you can see the channel settings: what department, activity type, and weight this channel is connected to.

Step 3: Adjust the channel's weight, depending on your business case.

The default weight is Full Credit, but you can decrease it to Medium Credit, Low Credit, or No Credit.

This weight will determine the maximum weight the touchpoints mapped to this channel can receive.

Channel mapping rules

Follow the steps below to add a new mapping rule to one of your channels:

Step 1: Underneath the channel's settings, you have your current mapping rules.

Step 2: To add a new mapping rule, scroll down and click the "Add" -> "OR" button.

Step 3: Add your custom mapping rule to map your new UTM parameters to the channel.

Use "AND" to define a mapping rule that is based on 2 (or more) conditions.

Step 4: Adjust the weight of your custom mapping rule.

The default weight is the weight of the channel, but you can decrease it depending on your business case.

That’s it!

Don’t forget to click “Save” 😉

Quick Tips:

  1. Once you finished mapping all of your current UTMs, try to stick to one UTM structure. This way, InfiniGrow will recognize new UTM links and map them to the right channel automatically.

  2. Created a new UTM with different rules? No problem! You can find all of your unmapped UTMs under "Unmapped Touchpoints". There, you can easily map them to the right channel.

  3. Be sure to check your unmapped touchpoints at least once a month so your data and attribution will remain as accurate as possible.
